«The American Association of Pediatrics recommends all children to be screened for snoring, as it may be a sign of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in the child. Furthermore, the ADA is encouraging dentists to screen for OSA, as well as for sleep and breathing disorders (SBD) in patients visiting a dental office.

  • Are you prepared to screen SBD an/or OSA in a child?

  • Do you have the answers for a parent informing that his/her child snores, has a restless sleep or grind the teeth at night?

  • Are you prepared to work with a Sleep Physician to correctly refer and get a proper diagnosis when you suspect a child has SBD or OSA?

  • Do you know how to work with a team to deliver an oral treatment to a child diagnosed with a SBD or OSA?

At the Airway Pediatrics Orthodontics Mini-Residency I will give you the answers for all those questions. I will give you the tools to screen for children with SBD and OSA, as well as how to use orthodontic and myofunctional techniques designed for children, which will permit you to guide their craniofacial growth and development at a "real" early age, in primary and early mixed dentition, so giving your young patient a better airway!!!

Looking forward to seeing you this coming September»
